I have always been very keen on aviation, being fascinated by the way such heavy jets can take to the air so gracefully.
Ever since I was a small boy flying to go on holiday, I have always wanted to be a pilot. This passion grew as I grew, as I read more books, spoke to more pilots, read more articles, and watched more documentaries. Numerous taster flights at the wonderful Andrewsfield Aerodrome across my teen years whetted my appetite for flying, and in April 2019 I was fortunate enough to begin an Integrated ATPL course at FTE Jerez.
During that course at FTE Jerez I spent over 800 hours in a classroom learning all about aircraft systems, instruments, meteorology and much, much more. Some of this must I have stayed in my head because I managed to pass the exams averaging a score of 97%!
I completed my first solo in October 2019, and after a lengthy delay in training due to the coronavirus pandemic, I passed the skills tests fist time for my Commercial Pilots Licence and Instrument Rating in October and December 2020 respectively. The final part of my training was the APS MCC in January 2021 in a B737 simulator.
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire course at FTE, and despite the current downturn in the industry, I look forward to its recovery soon when I hope to find a job in the skies! Any contacts in the industry would be welcomed with open arms too.
